“The most ‘mind blowing’ question above all questions in the universe is, “Who in the world is Jesus Christ?”
The world doesn’t really know Who Jesus Christ is.
We know so much about the galaxies and the ‘milky ways’, the mysteries of the planets and space.
The ‘never ending’ vastness out there is a mind baffling and mind-boggling mystery we want to discover.
The quest of the human mind and the human heart is insatiable. Science driven by the powerful imaginations of the mind have indeed brought much knowledge and discovery.
But we still wonder and want to know more.
There are so many questions in the powerful imagination of our minds that we want answered.
We have died wondering and will continue to do so.
But yet, none of these come even remotely close to that one single question which is far above all questions.
“WHO IN THE WORLD IS JESUS CHRIST?”
World religions and philosophical entities have portrayed Jesus Christ in many different ways. None of which are actually bad or even wrong.
“A Man sent by God”, some have said. Some have put Him across as a Good Teacher, a Holy Man who promoted non-violence.
Other faiths see Him as a Messenger of God and a prophet of God preaching and teaching about love.
They see Him as a Man filled with love and compassion, especially for the down trodden, the poor, depressed and oppressed.
The Christian sees and portrays Him as the Saviour of the world Who died for our sins.
And so the list goes on and all these things about Jesus Christ are true indeed and without dispute.
The world over the centuries, for the most part have accepted Him as one with all these great attributes.
Every generation have acknowledged the fact that Jesus Christ was indeed someone very special.
He was like someone that they had never come across or heard before. There was truly none like Him and there isn’t so today.
A HOUSEHOLD NAME
JESUS CHRIST is by far, the only true household Name.
HE is indisputably, the most well known entity in just about every household in every generation. This is irrespective of caste, colour, creed, ethnicity or religious background.
He may not be the most acknowledged or the most popular, but He certainly is the most well known.
There has been no figure like Him in all of human history.
The best of men and the worst of men, and everyone in between, know something about Him, be it how ‘little’. And that ‘little’ has great impact on every human heart.
There is something about Him that you just can’t shake off.
We try to do so with all our strength in many ways, be it voluntarily or involuntarily, but without success.
The disturbed are comforted and the comfortable are disturbed at the mention of His Name.
Run And Cannot Hide
We can run but are unable hide from Him.
Even the Psalmist exclaimed, “Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there [Psalm 139:7-8].
HE has been well described as the “Hound Of Heaven”.
How on earth does He mange to hound us without even chasing us?
The sound of His Name affects the deepest part of every soul and we are unable to explain it.
Whatever the outward reaction may be, but the inner depths of our being, ‘bows’ at the mention of His Name.
Who on earth is this man? Who in heaven’s name is this man?
These are questions that we just can’t shake off.
For Jesus Christ has this unexplainable effect on every human heart, whether it’s admitted or not.
WHY in God’s Name is this so?
Here is why.
“JESUS CHRIST ‘IS’ GOD OUR CREATOR”
The opening statement in the Old Testament Bible in [Genesis 1:1] is, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”.
As we consider this opening statement, we don’t get involved with controversy as to the origin of the universe.
We always say, “so what? What difference does it make? Because at some point in eternity past God created it out of nothing.
We don’t know when “in the beginning” was.
We don’t concern ourselves whether it’s billions of years or it’s thousands of years.
It really doesn’t make that much difference.
But what does make a difference is “WHO” started it all?
GOD!
The Triune God
So “in the beginning”, whenever it was, God started it all.
Here we have the term of Deity spelled G-O-D in our English language.
But in the original Hebrew tongue it was Elohim. And Elohim in Hebrew is a plural word.
So it’s the Triune God of a plurality of persons.
This Triune God, well known as the Trinity, is God the Father, God the Son and God The Holy Spirit.
None of them supercede, or are above each other. They are all co-equal.
“Being three HE is yet one” is the greatest incomprehensible mystery in the universe.
God is both singular and plural at the same time.
This mystery has plagued minds of the greatest of theologians in every generation.
But we can comprehend the concept, because man, created in the image of God, is also a three part being.
We too are made up of three entities, which are spirit, soul and body, yet we are one.
And we see this teaching of the Triune Godhead throughout all of Scripture.
SO, “in the beginning”, whenever it was, God, the Triune Godhead, “Elohim”, “created the heavens and the earth”.
Now the word “created” in the Hebrew tongue is “Bara”, which means “called out of nothing”.
So it is important to understand that the Triune God, “Elohim”, didn’t start with something and then somehow rearranged it.
“He started with absolutely nothing but Himself.”
And out of that “nothingness” He called the universe into being and into existence.
According to [Acts 2:23], the Triune God met in counsel at some point in eternity past.
And then, with the foreknowledge of God, everything was set in motion.
THE NEXT OPENING STATEMENT
The next opening statement is found in the Gospel of [John 1:1].
Echoing the first three words of [Genesis 1:1], John is under the inspiration and direction of The Holy Spirit.
“In the beginning”, he writes. But instead of writing ‘God’, he writes ‘the Word’, with the letter ‘W’ capitalized, denoting Deity.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
In the next verse [John 1:2], he writes, “The same (the Word) was in the beginning with God.
In other words, this Triune Godhead was complete. They were in absolute and total agreement as to what they were going to do.
Now [verse 3], “All things were made by Him (the Word);” writes John.
This Person, “The Word” was the creator of all things.
“And without Him (the Word) was not anything made that was made”.
So, just Who is “The Word”?
“The Word” is Jesus Christ, as John concludes his statement in [John 1:17], “grace and truth came by Jesus Christ”.
Jesus Christ ‘is’ God and our Creator indeed. Absolutely He is.
Paul the Apostle who was given the mandate to preach the “unsearchable riches of Christ”, said this in [Ephesians 3:9]:
“And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ.”
So just why is Jesus Christ known as “The Word”?
Do look out for part #2 of this series coming very shortly, titled, WHY JESUS CHRIST IS “THE WORD”.
These last 2 crumbs were just amazing and spoke volumes to me. Written and brought down to a simplicity which all and everyone can relate to and understand. Praise The Lord brother.
