CRUMB 0099 – HEAVEN’S DEFENSE ATTORNEY ON EARTH

“Paul the Apostle of the Gentiles is Heaven’s irrefutable defense attorney on earth”.

When it comes to presenting and defending a case there’s been no greater defense attorney in all of human history than Paul the Apostle.

This skillful art and technique in the profession of law, has originated from Paul’s principles out of the Book of Romans.

Most, if any at all, in the profession of law the world over today, do not know that.

Paul was brought up at the feet of Gamaliel, the greatest teaching rabbi of his day [Acts 22:3]

He was taught according to the perfect manner of the law and was second to none in Jewish Theology.

In todays terms he would have been considered a doctor of theology six times over.

To say he had a ‘brilliant mind’ would be an understatement.

Paul profited in the Jews’ religion above many of his equals in his own nation [Galatians 1:14].

He was one of the big wheels in Judaism and was more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of his fathers.

There was much he could boast about as he briefly lays it out in [Philippians 3:5].

“Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee”.

Enemy Of Christ

This Roman born Jew from Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, who was formerly Saul, was a sworn enemy of Jesus Christ.

Consumed and blinded by his religious zeal towards the God of his fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, he had just one passionate mission.

And that was to stamp out the Name of Jesus.

According to Saul of Tarsus, Jesus was an imposter and a blasphemer, Who had come to upset the Jewish religious order.

Anything that remotely smelled or breathed of Jesus Christ had to be taken out and got rid off for good.

Like a raging bull, this religious zealot and extremist was on his way to Damascus.

He couldn’t wait to get to Damascus fast enough so he could arrest these Jews who had embraced Jesus of Nazareth.

Saul of Tarsus was going to take them back to Jerusalem bound, to put them on trial and hopefully put them to death.

Nothing brings out the wickedness in people like religion.

Just look at the world today.

In the name of religion they can drive a suicide bomb into a marketplace and blow people to smithereens.

And the Muslims aren’t the first.

It’s always been that way.

Religions will cause people to do barbaric things and Saul of Tarsus, was no different.

BUT, Heaven had him marked from his mother’s womb [Galatians 1:15].

A Case To Be Established

Heaven was about to do something totally new and totally different on earth and its case had to be established.

And this new thing was going to be God’s last and final dealing with the human race.

God was going to transit the entire human race out from under the Law and bring them under the tabernacle of His Grace.

And HE would need an irrefutable defense attorney to represent Heaven’s case.

A new creation, not from the dust of the earth, but born from above in the realm of the spirit, was going to be established.

The last time God did something new was in 2000 BC, when He called out this Syrian from Mesopotamia, Abram.

It had been two thousand years since the fall of man and about three hundred and fifty years after the great flood.

Noah along with his wife and their three sons and their wives, a total of eight people who believed God, survived.

They then received the same instructions that God had given Adam.

And that was to multiply and fill the whole earth.

But that did not happen.

The People Stuck Together

The three races of people that came forth from the loins of Shem, Ham and Japheth, Noah’s three sons, stuck together.

They were to multiply and scatter over the face of the earth as the LORD had instructed.

But instead, about a hundred and seventy five years later after the flood, they came together as one at Shinar (Babel).

“AND THE whole earth was of one language and of one speech” [Genesis 11:1].

They were of one mind as they formed their own ‘one government’ and one pagan religious system.

This was expressed through the Tower of Babel, an attempt to reach up to the heavens.

And that is exactly what religion is today as it has always been, which is mans ‘futile attempt’ to reach God.

Every single pagan religion today, finds its roots at that Babel Tower.

So all that took place at Babel back then, was the establishment of the first “One World Order”.

However, in order to stop men from letting their evil imaginations run wild, God stepped in.

HE confused their language and scattered them abroad across the earth.

The place was named Babel, which means ‘confusion’.

And so it has been since then.

Two Thousand Years

By the time God calls out Abraham, He had been dealing with the human race for two thousand years.

God was dealing with men according to their conscience, when it came to sin.

The same instructions that God had given to Adam, Caine and Abel were still in place.

Whenever someone got convicted by their conscience of a wrong doing, they could bring a blood offering of an animal.

This sacrificial blood offering would be offered “by faith”, for the remission of their sins, which would be acceptable to God.

“Without faith it is impossible to please God” [Hebrews 11:6] is one of the ‘absolutes’ of Scripture.

The second absolute is, “without shedding of blood (there) is no remission (of sins) [Hebrews 9:22].

But man exercised his choice to ignore this instruction and live independently of his Creator God.

So by the time we get to Abraham, there was not a single believer on the planet.

That included Abraham too, who was also into paganism [Joshua 24:2], before he ‘believed God’.

And the entire human race back then, which chose to go their own way, was heading to their eternal doom.

For, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” [Proverbs 14:12].

God Pulls Out One Man

So, out of the vast river of humanity, God is going to pull out ‘one man’.

For after 2000 years, a hopeless race of humanity coming out of Adam, destroyed in the flood, went right back into paganism at the Tower of Babel.

SO, God in so many words at 2000 B.C. says,

“I’m going to do something totally different.

I’m going to call out ‘one man’.

And out of that one man I’m going to bring to Me a little nation.

Then I’m going to work through that little nation and prepare them.

And then through them I will take Salvation back to the whole main stream of humanity.”

And that of course was basically the Abrahamic Covenant [Genesis 12:1-3].

God promised Abraham a nation of people.

He would put them in a geographic area of land.

And then at the appropriate time He would bring them their King, their Government and their Kingdom.

And Israel could then be the evangelization of the nations.

But Israel rejected all that when they crucified and killed their King, Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

However, unknown to them, Israel’s ignorant rejection and crucifixion of their Messiah was perfectly in accordance with God’s eternal purposes.

Scripture testifies of this through Peter, one of the apostles of the Jews in the book of [Acts 2:23].

Israel Ignorantly Responsible

Though the nation of Israel was ignorantly responsible for killing their foretold Messiah, Redeemer and King, God raised Him up from the dead.

For, “it was not possible that HE should be holden of it” [Acts 2:24].

Death and the grave could not hold Jesus Christ.

And because Israel carried out this gruesome act through ignorance [Acts 3:17], God was still going to persist with them.

HE was going to give the nation of Israel every opportunity to still recognize and accept their promised Messiah.

And this was the thrust of the message of Peter and the rest of the apostles for the Jewish nation.

That the One they killed and crucified, God had raised from the dead.

If they could only believe, and repent of this national sin, carried out in ignorance, Christ could yet still come [Acts 3:19-20].

And they could still yet have that promised Kingdom and be that “light to the world” [Isaiah 49:6].

It was a valid offer!

For the next seven years after the ascension of Christ Jesus, they preached their hearts out to the nation.

But sadly it was to no avail!

An Unchanged Stiff-Neck

Israel’s ‘stiff-neck’ nature had not changed, in spite of all that they had gone through.

It was still the same as it was back then when God, through Moses was trying to lead them into the Promised Land.

God’s final appeal to the nation of Israel came through Stephen in [Acts 7].

Filled with the Holy Spirit of God, Stephen laid it all out in graphic detail before the Jewish religious leaders.

They didn’t like Stephen’s message, so they dragged him out of the city gates and stoned him to death.

This act was the pinnacle of Israel’s rejection of their Redeemer, Messiah and King.

So the rest of God plans and the covenant promises for them were pushed out to a day in the future.

God has not cast out Israel, as many within Christendom falsely teach.

They teach that since Israel rejected Christ, the Church is now the spiritual Israel.

They call it “replacement theology”, which is nothing short of ‘rubbish’.

Nothing could be more heretical and blasphemous.

Scripture is very clear on this matter in [Romans 11:1-2].

“The nation of Israel will yet have her day in the sun”.

Something Happened

When the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet after the stoning of Stephen, something happened.

God for the first time in Scripture [Acts 7:58] introduces the next major player on history’s stage.

And he was none other than Saul of Tarsus, who went on to become Paul, the great apostle of the Gentiles.

With Israel now set aside for a season, God now is going to turn to the Gentiles under a whole new economy.

This new programme was a mystery, a secret kept hidden in the mind of God since the world began [Romans 16:25].

The old age of ‘prophecy’ was now going to be replaced by the new age of ‘mystery’ in accordance with God’s hidden agenda.

Fifteen hundred years of religious Judaism was going to be made ‘null and void’. And the ‘Age of Grace’ would now take absolute preeminence.

A Divine shift was about to take place, as Grace would now replace the Law.

God’s “modus operandi” for the last time was going to change.

This was going to be the ‘grand finale’ and final culmination of all that went and precipitated before.

What God started at the fall in the creation account in Genesis was now going to end with this glorious ‘Age of Grace’.

A Legal Defense Representation

The road ahead in God’s new agenda, though Glorious, was going to face severe challenges and would need a legal defense attorney representation.

The ‘invalidity’ of fifteen hundred years of Judaism was going to need some explaining.

Without any shadow of doubt, Heaven now was going to need a solid legal defense attorney to lay down it’s case.

The Jews were not about to turn their back on fifteen hundred years of the tradition of their fathers.

“Not over their dead bodies”!

The Hebrew God of the Bible was going to turn to the “uncircumcised dogs”, without Israel and without the law.

UNTHINKABLE AND UNACCEPTABLE!

Apart from this, the next two thousand years of Christendom was going to throw up a lot of severe opposition.

And we are seeing this today, just how prevalent this attack and opposition is.

Satan the great adversary was going to oppose this ‘every which way but loose’. And he was going to stand on the law.

This symbolically created double horned beast with an arrowed tail and a three-pronged pitchfork was going to fight this tooth and nail.

But to get past this defense attorney was to be his greatest problem.

For this Apostle of the Gentiles, was going to be his worst nightmare.

Indeed, Heaven was going to need a well qualified “defense attorney” on earth.

And above all, this defense attorney would have to be absolutely ‘irrefutable’.

The eternal destinies of multiple billions down the ages were at stake.

He couldn’t afford to fail!

Paul the apostle, converted from Saul of Tarsus on the road to Damascus, was the only qualified man for the job.

He was “HEAVEN’S CHOICE” against all odds!

“Paul, the apostle of the Gentiles was and is indeed, Heaven’s ‘defense attorney’ on earth”.
