“Sin, righteousness & judgment are old-fashioned words we don’t really like when it comes to us”.
We want to brush them under the carpet the moment we confront them.
But they are real life issues. And they do regularly confront us directly & personally one way or another in some form or the other.
We ‘know’ deep down that this is true. We don’t like it & wish it never was so.
But the reality is that it ‘is’ so & there is absolutely nothing ‘we’ can do about it.
And here’s the hopelessness of this hard truth:
Unless we do ‘do something” about it, we can never really be truly free.
So here, we find ourselves in a ‘catch twenty two’ situation.
We may try some form of religion that may appeal to our natural minds.
We might try meditations; get involved directly or indirectly in charitable works etc.
All this is to make us feel good about ourselves, and to give us a sense of righteousness.
And they in reality are nothing more than ‘fig leaf’ clothing. A “so called” righteous veil over that which is not right about us.
Is not this true? If so, will our end be bitter? If so, is there any hope then?
You have been through much and have had more than your fair share of unfairness, condemnation and misunderstanding.
We want to tell you that your sufferings are not in vain and do count for something greater and invaluable.
Hope against hope is a wonderful thing and we want to tell you that this hope is freely available.
